Boo at The Zoo

My parents are really starting to crack down on the whole stay at home thing with more germies out there and myself being better, but still fighting to get the weight back on. But there are few more traditions to go. It is Halloween time and we have been reading a lot of books about witches and I have been taking notes from Abby Cadabby on Sesame Street. So today, my method of escape, was to cast a spell on Mommy and Daddy and have them take Ryker and I to Boo at The Zoo. And it worked.

DSC_3181

Does anyone notice that great big orange bump above my head?

DSC_3185 DSC_3188

And here is the gang that we go to the zoo with.

DSC_3190

No one told Ryker he was supposed to wait until after we were done to start eating his candy. He is just really excited about this whole trick-or-treat thing.

DSC_3194

I knew, but they were giving out some really good candy.

DSC_3223 edited

Are we not the cutest bunch of trick-or-treaters ever? Okay, it would have been better if Ryker hadn't just stuffed his mouth full of candy, but just pretend he is trying to make some elephant noise.

DSC_3211

And our little family. We hope everyone has just as magical of a Halloween.

Pumpkin Patch

So I am having a really hard time staying home all the time. I like to GO. So I have been working on my Houdini skills and when there are fun family traditions coming up, I somehow make it to them.

I am so sneaky!

Me and my dudes. (Those two ruggedly good-looking men in the back, yep those are our dads.)

DSC_3151

Going around on the swings, don't worry we had hand sanitizer to use afterwards.

DSC_3154

And yep, this about how the rest of the pictures went. That is what you get when you are the mature one hanging out with a bunch of two year olds. But the pumpkin patch is definitely one tradition that we couldn't give up, hay ride and all.

I can fix that

Daddy has been working hard to catch up on a lot of around the house chores that require manliness. You know, car stuff, yard work, cleaning the garage., the type of chores that make you stinky, sweaty, and have to grunt a lot. This morning he told me he had to go fix the reverse light on the car, so I decided to help.

DSC_3119

Oh yes, I know what it means to be a man.

Pokerface

We have doing a lot of fun stuff lately for our very informal at home preschool this year. Now one day, there seemed to be some confusion. We do a lot of fun activities with flash cards. But today, when Mommy told me I could play with my cards, she came back to find me with these.

DSC_3115

Flash Cards . . .  Face Cards. I will blame it on my hearing aids.

But to prove something intelligent could come from these, I made this.

DSC_3117

Don't know what this is? It is the sign for infinity. Some kids start with 0-10, I go straight for infinity.

I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home

The other day, Michelle and I had been missing Daddy A LOT! We wanted to make him a little surprise for when he came home. Now Michelle is well known for her culinary skills, but up until now, no one has let me try my hand in cooking.  But like I said, up until now. Today when Mommy got me up, I let her know that I wanted to make him some delicious brownies (he had told me had been craving them the night before). Low and behold she let me make them.

DSC_3081

This is for you Daddy.

DSC_3083

Just stirring away. It was tough, but I got the job done.

DSC_3087

Daddy is always telling Michelle that every good chef takes little tastes as he cooks. Well, it is tasting pretty good.

DSC_3094

Michelle letting me know I am doing a fine job.

DSC_3109

Voila , brownies for Daddy. (Sorry there is no picture of them after they were done baking, but that is when Daddy got home and we decided to just scarf them all up. They were delicious.)

It Is Your Birthday, Shout HOORAY!!!

DSC_3080

I am officially 2!!!

DSC_3048

We started off the day with the traditional going out for breakfast. And let me tell you, there is something cool about having a celebration be for you.

DSC_3050

And some how Michelle ended up being there too . . . hmmm . . . we have no idea how she got there. But don't worry, we just happened to show up at a time that only a few other customers would be at the restaurant. Crazy how that all worked out.

DSC_3054

As you can see I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast of a pancake with butter and maple syrup, a side of bacon (thanks to Mommy), chicken tenderloin (thanks to Daddy), and blue crayon (thanks to kind hostess). It was delicious.

DSC_3058

Later in the evening we had a little party with some of our best buddies. My cousin Dallas was so excited for me to see what they had picked out for me we couldn't even wait for the party to start. It is so nice to have a boy my age around, we understand each other.

DSC_3062

We had the traditional pizza dinner followed by cake and ice cream. I even blew the candle out all by myself!

DSC_3063

My favorite part was the chocolate frosting, but you would never have guessed that.

DSC_3068

Then we finished off the evening by unwrapping the rest of the presents. One of my best buddies down the street got me the most awesome bath boat toy. Michelle got me some totally cool Thomas the Tank Engine clogs. And, sigh, I also got a bunch of clothes from Mommy and Daddy (they are practical like that).

DSC_3071

But . . . Daddy came through for me and found a set of tools just for me! (Don't worry Norm Abram, it came with a set of safety goggles.) Wow, this was wonderful day. Oh, and those clogs Michelle got me, yep I plan on wearing them to bed tonight.

Practicing for the Big Day

Tomorrow  is a big day! And whenever something big is supposed to happen, it is important to practice. So Michelle and her great nurse helped me prepare for tomorrow.

DSC_2948

That's right! Tomorrow is my Birthday! And since this is only my 2nd Birthday, I need some practice.

DSC_2965

Holy Smokes! Now I can blog too!

DSC_3013

(This is game face, gotta have the right attitude for Practicing)

DSC_2987

And a remote control Home Depot Race-Car . . . can we say manly?

DSC_2991

Now some of the gifts are meant for us to share, so Michelle was more than willing to get in on the action.

DSC_3015

The best part of these gifts, was watching Mommy trying to figure out the instructions on how to build them. Even with those two little boys swimming in her belly right now and all their testosterone, she just isn't quite as handy as Daddy and I.

 DSC_3023

Yep, this little practice session was a hit. And yes, I really do love my car that much. It even came with me for nap time.

My Boys

Mommy had another appointment with her doctor to make sure everything is good with the boys. Once again, they were not shy in hiding their Manhood, but they were a little ornery in letting them see all the other things they have to check. So in a few more weeks we will get  another good look at the twins.  But as far as we can see our brothers are doing great, and Mommy is too (that shot seems to be doing some good). So here is a look at the two little men growing in Mommy's tummy.

Oh and for all those interested in knowing the song Daddy broke into at our last appointment here is link to THE SONG. We are sappy in our family, but that is what makes us so cool.

Well That's Weird

Greg_House

The last week and half I have been sick. No surprise, I am sure. It is that time of year when the stinkin' germies come out from hiding and start attacking small, innocent children - like me. Last week we first went into see our Pediatrician (again, we can not say enough good about her, she is truly amazing) And with the symptoms I was showing (working hard to breath, needing oxygen, fevers, coughing up yucky stuff, and more), she called our newest friend in the neighborhood, my Pediatric Pulmonologist (he is also on our top ten list of great people, and deserves a post unto himself, but I got sick before I could tell you all the great things he has done for me in the last month). He gave Mommy a list of things to do to get better, and I did . . .  for a while.

One crazy thing about every time I get a respiratory infection is it makes my stomach feel horrible. I get all pukey, and the antibiotics always make things exit a little too quickly out the other end, and well . . . it is like my whole body revolts whenever I get sick. Not so fun. So since I was starting to getting better my good parents decided I needed to get something more in my body than just pedialyte and tried to slowly introduce my G-tube formula back. Well, I started feeling a little sick to my stomach again, but did okay . . . for awhile.

Then something interesting started to happen, as they gave me more formula I started spiking fevers, 104 degrees Fahrenheit to exact. They would give me pedialyte again, and I would feel better. Start formula again meant I would spike fevers. Now I had my regular "I had a Birthday and turned 4 years old" appointment with our Pediatrician already scheduled so my parents decided to keep me on pedialyte and talk to our doctor then about this problem. She wanted to see if there really was a correlation since I had been fever free for 72 hours while getting just pedialyte so she had Mommy and Teddy start my formula again that night and she would call an talk with my Pulmonologist (the fevers kept leading to worsening of my respiratory symptoms) and my Gastroenterologist. We went home started some formula and I did okay . . . for a short while.

That night I spiked a fever again. And well, my parents were started to really wear down after not getting a good night sleep for two weeks now. My Pediatrician called first thing that morning and Mommy told her how I had gotten sick again during the night. The Pediatrician told Mommy that Pulmonologist had given them some more things to do and also to call if she had more fevers. The Gastroenterologist was uncertain what exactly was going on, but wanted to know if I spiked a fever. So Mommy ended up calling the Pulmonologist to talk about the fevers and he decided it would be best if I had another Chest X-ray and to come in and see him. So we hurried and took off and saw him. He also called our Gastroenterologist to see if there was anything he could add. We got there, he knew I was worse and scared Mommy with the idea of me having to stay in the hospital (not our favorite place for sleepovers), but decided against it and gave Mommy a list of aggressive treatments to do at home.  After that all kings horses and all the kings men came to a consensus, "Well this is weird," why yes, yes it is. They did brainstorm and came up with an idea for the fevers. Have me try a different "elemental" formula that is much less taxing to digest and also easily absorbed. But did not work  . . .  for a while.

Now Tino had already made plans to come into town, and spend some time just hanging out, so it turned into a good weekend of a lot of relaxing. Slowly introducing this new formula, and constant respiratory treatments. And Sunday night we had a break through, I tolerated some formula without getting a fever. Tino, always knows just how to make me feel better.  All our Doctors called Monday Morning (yes, they really are that good) and were glad we were finally getting better. But after all this lack of food and being sick, I was starting to look a little worse for wear. My Mommy wanted to go in and see my Gastroenterologist to see where would go from here with this new formula.  We found out I have lost over 10% of my body weight, which is horrible, but I am at least tolerating formula now. Well, "slow and steady wins the race" and that is how we are moving forward with new formula in increasing its concentration of calories. One sad thing, Mommy voiced her concern about the intensity of the symptoms and extreme fevers and the significant weight loss with this viral respiratory infection. Is this something we would expect all winter? He then replied that we are not to go anywhere. The more of a bubble we live in this winter the better. We will try our hardest, we do have a few activities coming up that we are going to have to rethink, but for the most part we will have to come up some awesome home activities. Oh, and don't think you can't come visit. We LOVE visitors and being home all the time makes us crazy! So come and help us stay sane this winter.

Oh and FYI, anyone thinking of buying stocks right now might one to invest in some of these product:

 CLOROX02452 hand sanitizer Lysol-Disinfecting-Wipes-Spring-LSS-_i_lbw61178_01S

Mommy is thinking of  talking  with the makers of these products to negotiate a deal of having these delivered to our house by the barrel. She is a little weird that way.

Proud Boy

DSC_2794

Today something amazing happened. Ryker decided he wanted to try going potty in the big kids potty. No we aren't truly ready to start the potty training intensely, but when a boy decides he is all grown up, why fight. So today starts a new journey for our family.
