An Egg-cellent Project

Well it is that time of year that we start preparing for the wonderful holiday of Easter. Lucky for me, I don't have to worry about my Easter Dress. We found it right after Christmas. Mommy usually remember the week before Easter that I will need a special dress, which is too late to look at all the really cute options. But that doesn't mean we are all prepared.

Oh we have much to do.
So Mommy and I decided to do some super inexpensive Easter Craft today (super inexpensive=no money spent). First we picked out and cut up a bunch of Mommy's old scrapbooking paper. She accumulated a lot, before she had Ryker and I, now that she has us and something scrapbook about, it just sits in the cupboard. Go figure.

Then we got out some old Easter Eggs from Easters Past. And Dabbed/Smothered them with Modge Podge. Modge Podge, fun to say, fun use.

A picture of Mommy and me together. Bet a lot of you readers out there wonder if Mommy is ever around. She is, and sometimes she actually helps with these projects.

Then we took those tiny bits of paper and plopped them on the Modge Podged smothered eggs. We found out that if you dip the paper in the Modge Podge too, it works easier. Didn't figure that out to the end. Live and learn I say.

And the eggs as they sat drying. Mine is the pink one if you couldn't tell.
A fun little inexpensive project with materials we already had at home. Ingenuity, gotta love it.

Hot Choc-O-Late!

I am just now discovering that there is whole world of wonderful foods my parents have been keeping from me. I understand that this whole "feeding our child food into his mouth" thing is still kinda new to them and all. But really, just feed me. Stop holding back on me. Don't act all surprised when you offer me something tasty like, oh I don't know, a mug of hot chocolate, and I like it . . . and get happy . . . and drink it . . . and won't give it back. I like food. I like to eat food. And according to that crumb on my forehead, I like to feel and experience food. So please all you reasonable people out there, tell my parents to stop holding out and give me more of the good stuff.

Feeling Loved

Do you ever wake up and feel lonely and sad. And then during that day something spectacular happens to let you know that people like you and care about you and miss you when you are gone.

Well today was one of those days.

I have been sad since I can't really get out much where people are. I feel better. So I go to therapy, I have gone to the park, healthy family and friends have come to visit. But shopping (oh how I miss shopping) is out of the question and Primary (oh how I miss Primary) is out of the question too. Why? Because there are still germs out there and my little bitty immune system is still recovering. Call my parents crazy, but since I got Rotovirus days after coming home from the hospital, they are just a wee bit paranoid now.

But like I said, today was one of those days that something spectacular happened.

A knock at the door.

And a package.

I do already!

I am, I really am!

Wow!

Mommy, you have to check this out!

Thank you Primary Presidency. This is something spectacular.

Spring Cleaning

So the other day Mommy pulled out the vacuum cleaner and I begged her to allow me a chance to do some chores. I really do love chores. So after a long discussion she gave in. But then she went and started doing a different chore I have never seen her do before. Wash the windows! I just had to get in on this fabulous source of joy.

I love my job. I like feeling productive.

Seriously hard working boy here. Do you think they will raise my allowance (especially since it is nothing right now, goodness gracious.)

Working together getting the patio door clean. Wow, this is hard work.

You can count on us Mommy. We will get this place spick and span soon enough.

Luck o' the Irish

Today was a day that most hope is day full of good luck, not bad. Well our's was extremely lucky. The weather was beautiful and warm, so Mommy and my awesome nurse took us on a walk to the community park. Oh so Lucky.

Showing off my independent nature. I am sure I get that from my Grandpa's Irish background.

So this is what I was missing out on last summer.

Fresh air, Sunlight, Freedom!

The adrenaline rush of slides . . . WWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Trying the slide out together. It was a rush.

Yes Mommy, I am feeling pretty lucky today!

Oh Michelle, I am not so sure you have enough green on. I just might need to pinch you.

Hot Dog!

Just the other day, Mommy and I discovered a new food that is so delicious and wonderful and just plain yummy. The likes of which I have only dreamed about.

Hot Dogs! Why have you not shared these delicious bits of meat with me before?

I love you Mommy! And I love Hot Dogs!!

Bye Bye Num Num

A few weeks ago, I bit through the silicone of my Num Num. (Michelle and I are starting to speculate that Daddy living near the Amazon for two years somehow altered his genetic makeup, that is why are teeth are as sharp as piranha teeth . . . hm.) Mommy wasn't emotionally ready for me to be that grown up. So she gave me a new one and pretended to chastize me and give me the ultimatum on not biting through them, that is a choking hazard so she says. What she didn't know was that I am very mature for my age and was done with the thing.

So two weeks later and continuous chomping I bit through the second one. (Michelle was one who explained to me how to get them from continually popping it in my mouth to get to be quiet or go to sleep, she had to do the same thing two years ago.)

Bye Bye Num Num. It was fun while it lasted.

Picnic at Home

Sometimes, sublimal messages just don't work with our parents. I have to literally draw them a picture.

Picnics are good.

This plate is really yummy. Chewy and crunchy all at the same time.

Okay, fine, I will take it out of my mouth.

I like picnics Mommy. Lets get planning some for the summer.

Home Improvement

There is no more important safety rule than to wear your safety glasses.

Sorry, we watch a lot of PBS and we have come to idolize Norm Abram. And if he says it is important we believe him.

So after finding the previously posted about foot massager at Bed Bath and Beyond, we made it to the Beyond part of the store and found something Mommy has been dreaming about ever since Daddy and Mommy moved into our home . . . Drapes. We have had Vertical Blinds in front of our patio door. And even though they were handy since Ryker couldn't escape quietly, they were not the most attractive ones. So out went the blinds and home improvement project number 3 began. (You are wondering about 1 and 2 I am sure, we will do a Flashback Friday on those someday soon.)

So we got out the handy dandy drill. Power tools, they just give us this urge to grunt.

Daddy using above said drill and got to work. Now the rest of the project doesn't have a lot of pictures since it took both Mommy and Daddy to do it and they don't allow us to use the nice camera, I don't know why.

So here is a picture of the finale for the drapery rod. It seriously took Mommy like 45 minutes just to pick out the rod and the finale to go with it. We won't even discuss how long she took on the drapes.

And the drapes themselves. Now don't critique the picture it is difficult to take a picture of chocolate brown drapes against a window with a lot of natural light coming in. So needless to say, they look much better in person. Mommy and Daddy had so much fun with this little project, they are trying to figure out their next project. Might have to do something with that Orbital Sander from Christmas and Woodstain.

The Last of Christmas

So this last Christmas, Daddy got a wonderful gift that he wanted ever so much. And Mommy trying to be extra frugal made sure she got a great deal on it, like a 90% off deal. (Redlights and sirens should have gone off that something was wrong, but Mommy wast just excited about being frugal.) Well Daddy got a foot massager. Glee overwhelmed him. However, a few days after Christmas he opened the package in excitement of the relaxation his feet were soon to experience only to pull something out of the box that still haunts their memories . . .

An old, stinky, and very used foot massager.

Lets say, Mommy will never shop at that department store again (and yes this was a department, not some no name low quality store but, a nice, well known, national department store.)

So after returning the "thing," and nicely discussing with the people at Customer Service their feelings of utter disgust and hopes that the "thing" not be reshelved, but more appropriately burned. They got their money back and walked away with their sad little faces hanging low.

Daddy soon gave up hope of ever having his feet being massaged and having that feeling of utter relaxation.

Then today, my parents got a brilliant idea, lets got buy another one and replace the Christmas present disaster.

So off to Bed Bath and Beyond. (Not quite sure if this were in the Bed or Bath Section, it wasn't even in the Beyond Section. Just the front of the store at the In Between Section.)

So here is what the Christmas present should have looked like. (You will thank us for not showing you the "thing", I am starting to feel faint just from the memory.)

And showing you how it works. My feet feel much better, Ryker's bottom is much more relaxed too.

When Tino Comes to Visit

We are some of the luckiest two kids in the world. We have the coolest aunt, we call her Tino. She is young, and quirky, and spoils us both completely rotten! This last weekend she came to visit. It was heaven!
She let me eat bacon and biscuits and gravy, instead of the stinky/disgusting cereal Mommy is still trying to feed, bleck.
She gave me a cookie for dessert after eating a large helping of mashed potatoes and sour cream. It was even a Girl Scout Grasshopper Cookie.
And she didn't go crazy when my hands got messy. She feels that it is good to experiment with textures and stuff like that.
And when I give her my pathetic eyes, she usually gives in and gets me what I want. "Tino, I am a growing boy, I need more of those nutritious cookies."
And don't forget me, she spoils me beyond all comprehension. When I was so sick in the hospital she knew what a girl like me needed. I needed new nightgowns, and a spa day. Well this weekend we recreated "Spa-Day".
Don't you love the color, it brings out my beautiful brown eyes.

Yep, our Tino is the best. She is just the kind of crazy aunt that every kids needs. She stays up late, feeds us yummy foods, plays crazy games, and makes us look super cool. Tino, you ROCK!!!
