Today was the day of the shower I have been prepping Mommy for. (To be totally honest it is a very good thing Mommy was only helping to the throw the shower, because her friend really did all the work.)
So is this some weird gift or what?
Nope, but I very funny game. I guess most mommies get very adept at recognizing different baby foods. My Mommy, well . . . we all know she needs tons of help in that department.
EEK! Did Ryker do something ever so awful?
Nope again, those were actually just melted candy bar, but a little too life-like if you ask me. (Sidenote: Diapers do NOT explode in the microwave when melting candybars on top of them. Just in case you wanted to know.)
Now to show one of the many reasons why Mommy and her friend wanted to throw this shower for With-Child friend. This woman is so amazingly creative and crafty. She wanted a new nursery for this little one to-be. So she designed and made it herself. As in no pattern.
How cute is this!
And check out this quilt she made. Remember, no pattern. Those Giraffes were by eye. Holy Smokes.
And super adorable matching wall hangings.
Again, no pattern. She just decided what she liked and did it. Mommy, take lessons.
And I would love a little pair of these myself. Do they come in size 7?
What a great idea to cover the Baby Bjorn. You just have to love those polka-dots.
So knowing that she is so crafty and loves such projects, Mommy called and had Grandma go buy the material for the quilt. Well, Grandma being fully aware of Mommy's great intentions but lack of crafty/domestic genes, she offered to put the quilt together. Mommy did get to at least sew the sides.
Hands at work get this thing tied. All because we love this woman so much.
So Mommy forgot until the night before she would need needles to tie this quilt (she totally depends on Grandma and forgot that Grandma and that all her quilt supplies reside over the river and through the woods, a.k.a. very far away, a.k.a. not here.) So she went to Wal-Mart in the middle of the night and got what she thought would work. Obviously there was something wrong and people had to break out their leatherman's to get this tied.
But whatever the cost/extra work those helping hands kept a going and it got done.
And all the gifts galore. (This kid isn't even here and people shower him with gifts . . . shower with gifts, now I get why it is called a shower. Goodness, Mommy is rubbing off on me.)
Now to make your taste buds tingle, pictures of all the yummy food. Mommy likes yummy food, so she took lots of pictures.
The colors make even my mouth water.
Yummy chicken sandwiches. I even helped Daddy make the chicken salad for these, we are quite the team.
Remember those cheesecake cupcakes? Here they are all done. Little slice of Kiwi, little dab of blueberry jam.
And to finish it off. The theme was Green and Blue Polka-Dots.
With-Child friend coming through the door still unknowing of what was just about to happen.
SURPRISE! Happy Baby Shower!
There was a wonderful turn out of family and friends who all came to show this amazing woman how much we all love her.
Now just a few more weeks and we will get to meet this little man. I am sure he will be just as cute as his brothers. (Hope he has just as curly of locks!)

Those pictures are wonderful. Thanks, Michelle, for helping your Mom. I was indeed very surprised. I am so grateful for such good friends that would do all of this for me.
THANK YOU!!
Great job on the party! The melted candy bar game is HILARIOUS! I am still totally disgusted and laughing at that picture. What a riot!
I just love that! You and Angela are so thoughtful. That food looks beyond yummy.
A leatherman for quilting. I never would have thought of that. Your food looked yummy! (Besides the candy bars, that is.)
I canmot claim doing all the work. You have an amazing Mommy & Daddy, and you and Ryker are amazing helpers. Between all of us, I'd say we pulled off one great shower! Great pictures by the way--I really need to take lessons!
