Another one bites the dust

Since every else has been seeing doctors and having procedures, tests, and surgeries, I decided to join the fun. So a few months ago I talked Mommy and Daddy into letting me have a turn seeing the doctor. The doctor, understanding my plight, told Mommy and Daddy I would need a surgery. He told them I have a hydrocele and that it would most likely lead to a  hernia down the road. They were scared, but as for myself, I was excited to finally get to join the crowd.

Here I am in the surgical waiting area, so nice of them to have a little kids play area.

Then, they took me back to pre-op to go through their checklist of questions. That didn't take long, so off to the playroom in pre-op.

And play I did.

Then I found this baby on a gurney and I prepped her for surgery. I of course was great at transporting her too. I ran over every bump and hit at least three walls, while moving at ludicrous speed.

Daddy found these awesome shake and go cars and we had races down the hallway. It was awesome!

Next I got to try on some pretty cool OR gear. People were starting to get confused and wondering if I was a doctor, so I had to take it off.

Daddy wanted to be cool like me. He tried it on too.

Then after waiting in the hospital for 6 and half hours they told us the doctor was ready for me. There is one probably with parents who work in the healthcare system and a sister who has met every specialist under the sun, they get to know who is the best. Well, the best is also well known in the area and when there are emergencies that come, it is the best that takes care of them. So after the amazing surgeon took care of some pretty important emergencies, I got my turn.

And there is the team taking me back. Yep, they let Daddy take me back.

And before we all knew it, the Surgeon was out in the waiting room talking to Mommy and Daddy and pretty soon they were sitting next to me in recovery.

And a few minutes later the fabulous recovery nurse got me a glass of water, oh the first drink in 8 hours, and then a very delicious  popsicle. I am starting to wondering why everyone seems to think surgery is so bad. All I remember is a bunch of playing for hours in some place away from home, Daddy taking a day off work, and waking up to have someone give me as many popsicles as I want. Seriously, all I see is plusses.

And today, I am running around and playing like normal. Yep, I will definitely chalk this up as not so bad.

Seriously I feel like I got ripped off with my surgery! There was no playing with toys and I didn't even get a drink of water after...well maybe they gave me a dixie cup of water, but I was on my own after that. ...But I did get lots of homemade tapioca from your grandma! yummmm...

I feel so out of touch. It wasn't until Sunday that I even heard about Ryker's adventure. I'm happy all went well and I am now sending my hugs and kisses. XOXOXO

What a long day! I'm glad that they had more than magazines to keep you busy while you waited, Ryker!
