Drive some more

After Breakfast the grown ups decided to head out. Now Mommy and Daddy wanted to take us some place very special. Some place they had been to a hundred times, but have never had the chance to show us. Some place truly beautiful.

The World's First National Park.

This was my initial reaction to having to get back in the car. Do NOT make me hold my bladder again for two hours or so help me!

I tried to get Ryker to join my side, but they bribed him with some yummy caramel flavored rice cakes.

But we soon discovered why everyone wanted to come. To see cars parked on the side of the road.

Just kidding, but those parked cars did warn us that there would wildlife to see (the elk, not the other crazy tourists, come on guys.)

And we got to see some of these (buffaloes if you can't tell). And no, we did not get out of the car and start chasing them. Grandpa is a smart man and just drives by slowly with the window down.

Unfortunately though, sometimes when we got stuck behind cars it wasn't for wildlife. Nope, just everyday road construction.

Of course, we took the opportunity to have a yummy outdoor picnic. Ryker and I were so glad to have such great break (there was a really nice restroom nearby).

Then we saw this cool vehicle. Next year maybe.

The flowers were all over (trust me, if we had stopped every time Mommy saw some pretty flowers to take pictures of, goodness).

We of course saw tons of this, the smell is definitely something I will never forget.

Last of all is this. Mommy's family was camping in Yellowstone the day the 1988 fire started. So to Mommy, seeing all the new growth surrounding the burnt trees is awesome.

Ryker and I can't wait to come back.

Waking up someplace different

Last night we went on a long drive. We were told that we were going to see Grandma and Grandpa M. We had to wait for Daddy to get home from work, so it was late when we finally left. The drive itself was a fun filled experience with Ryker puking up an assortment of goodies (note to smart parents out there, don't give a 22 month old M&M's while on a long drive if the Mommy is pregnant, something about multi and vibrant colored vomit did not make her feel the best, such a pansy), then being passed by three state troopers and five county sheriff cars all with lights and sirens and going at least a 100 miles per hour (Ryker's comment to this sight, "Woh, cars!") and last of all I spent the last 2 hours holding my bladder trying to convince my parents that I really did have to go potty (yeah, they are just that bright some times.) Anyway, we made it Grandma and Grandpa's house only to get out, go potty (FINALLY!), change Ryker's poopy bottom (FINALLY!), and get plopped back in the car. Where were they taking us? Well we did what all smart children would in such stressful circumstances. We fell asleep. The next morning we woke up some place new and different. Unlike any place we had ever been. We woke up in the FOREST!

We can't do this in our backyard.

       

And our landscaping is definitely not this beautiful.

And no one brings us breakfast like this at home.

Check it out, bacon and hash browns for breakfast, and we eat it OUTSIDE!

And of course there is Tino. Have we told you how much we love her?

But we think Daddy's brain got a little fried driving so late. Otherwise, we think this new place is pretty cool, in fact we might just stay a few days.

Double Feature

Daddy and Mommy took us to go see a movie. They found out about this special production a month ago and made plans to go and see it today. It was a short but awesome movie. The soundtrack was simple, it was pretty much just a rhythmic beating. We actually got to watch an interview afterwards with the producers and director. The scheduled release date for this production is February 24, 2011. However, the director who has worked on other similar projects and has worked with these two producers on their last two productions is anticipating an early release.

But the best part of the movie was the ending . . . it was actually a DOUBLE FEATURE!!!

Christmas in July

This morning we woke up to a surprise. This was at the level of Christmas and Santa Claus.

Two huge boxes full of amazing things. What can we say, Teddy rules!

I told you they were packed full of great things.

It was hard slowing down, just so much to look at.

It was like Mary Poppins' carpet bag, stuff just kept coming out.

And of course, like Christmas, some assembly was required. And since Daddy was at work, I took over the man of house duties.

Yes, truly a Christmas in July.

Why we love visiting grandparents

Running around in the dirt . . .  mostly naked.

Exploring the yard . . . mostly naked.

Playing on the playset . . . mostly naked.

Jumping on the jumpoline . . . mostly naked.

So I like being mostly naked.

It makes it easier for Mommy to give me zerbits when we wrestle.

But I did get dressed later. Swim trunks count as getting dressed.

They are the appropriate attire for Grandpa to teach me about the refractory properties of water particles that in the end create something as beautiful as a rainbow. Gotta love science!

Oh, and by the way, they have trees full of these. Applesauce, Apple Pie Filling, Apple Butter . . . Yummy.

And Tino is there. We love Tino if you hadn't already figured that out.

And Jana was there too. She reminded us a lot of Mommy. Can you guess why?

Then there is family picnics.

With family picnics is the opportunity to hang out with family (meaning great-grandma, grandpa, grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins and just a ton of fun).

Cool cousins who want to hang out with me. And when I say cool, I mean cool. His shirt and hat tells me he bleeds Blue.

Thought they left me home? Nope, I don't like the mostly naked thing, and I don't like the hot weather. I prefer being made up beautiful by my aunts and cousins inside where it is cool.

But when the sun went down and the yard is full of shade, I join them outside.

And when no one is watching, my inner tiger comes out and I try to steal the food off your plate.

Then there is this cute little sweetheart who Mommy fell completely in love with. Who wouldn't love that sweet face and yogurt covered hand?

We also see Grandma and Grandpa who have this beautiful building down the street. How lucky are they to have his majestic building so close.

These are our reasons we love visiting our Grandmas and Grandpas.
